Sushi Hoshikai

Hands down best omakase in Jeju and the best lunch we've had so far! Made the reservation online for lunch (there's 2 sessions at 12.00 and 1.30pm). Getting there from our hotel was an adventure in itself as the buse routes here in Jeju are pretty sparse. We ended up walking there from OceanPoint for nearly an hour! Though it was well worth it as the sashimi/sushi were out of this world! Extremely fresh, prepared meticulously and with heart and very delicious! To those still in doubt on whether to go for Sushi Hoshikai's omakase lunch, it is well worth it's price!

Had an amazing dinner experience here, which was value for money. Great attention to details as well, both the server and the chef noticed that I’m left handed and shifted my items to the left, sushi was placed in the possible way too for me to pick up the sushi using my left hand. Extremely good variety of dishes too! Only updating some of the dishes!

We had a wonderful lunchtime omakase. It’s a special place and worth the visit. They were very helpful with dietary requirements, and the chefs worked hard to explain the dishes in English. I would return if I was in Jeju again.

Decent Omakase using local to Jeju ingredients, or sourced locally. Service starts with a small gift where you get to keep the printed hand towel. The most memorable course was the salt board sashimi - 10/10 and one of the highlights of my trip. The other sushi were also above average.

With just ten counter seats, the interior is minimalist yet warm, creating an atmosphere that feels both exclusive and inviting. The lunch course is reasonably priced and features standout dishes like melt-in-your-mouth tuna, soft lightly grilled mackerel, and creative salt-board sashimi. Service is exceptional—attentive without being intrusive, with chefs carefully explaining each dish and staff going out of their way to accommodate guests, even offering explanations in English. Reservations are essential, as the restaurant tends to be booked out well in advance, but the experience is absolutely worth it.

We had amazing omakase experience. This place is on the pricier side compared to others in Jeju, however the price matches the expectations towards the quality and quantity.

One of the best omakase we have had even when compared to those we have visited in Japan or Singapore. The chef’s attention to details is unmatched and they try their best to source as much ingredients as they can from the island. Do note that they are very strict with the reservation timing and to make sure you arrive on time.

I had an absolutely amazing experience at the lunch omakase at this true gem of a place. Chef Ahn's considerate and attentive nature really stood out. The diverse menu featured some of my favorite fish prepared in incredibly creative ways. Chef Ahn even offered to make extra servings of the dishes I enjoyed most. The whiskey highball I had with my meal was excellent. Everything about this place, from the seafood to the overall vibes, was fantastic. It's a must-try for anyone who appreciates good food. I'm definitely planning to visit again.
